The Santiago Court of Appeals determined on Thursday that the retired soccer player Jorge Valdiviaaccused of four sexual crimes, including two rapes, must return to jail to serve his preventive detention, which had been revoked at the beginning of the month.
During a hearing to review precautionary measures, the court accredited the materials provided by the prosecution and considered that the ex-flyer represents a “danger to the security of society”.
Valdivia, 41, was arrested on October 22 after being accused of the crime of rape against a woman two days earlier. On November 4, the court revoked preventive detention for night house arrest.
