Eliminated from the FedEx Cup, Jordan Spieth explained at the end of the first playoff tournament that his priority is to have wrist surgery as soon as possible.
63rd in the FedEx Cup standings prior to the tournament, Jordan Spieth closed the FedEx St. Jude Championship in 68th place, far from the places he dreams of reaching to try to break into the top 50, to go to Colorado this week to compete in BMW Championship.
But for 16 months, the Texan was sidelined by a wrist injury he contracted PGA Championship from last year. Despite his efforts, no cure was satisfactory and the only option he had now was surgery.
“I need to get my surgery done ASAP, and then I’ll follow the protocol of what I need to do from there.”said Spieth at the end of his tournament last Sunday in Memphis.
Come back in 2025
The winner of Masters, The Open and US Open also explained that he is not in a hurry. It is implied that he will take time to do things right.
In general, rehabilitation after this type of intervention is three months. Jordan Spieth can hope to return by the end of November at the earliest, but it seems more reasonable to consider the return of the 31-year-old player at the start of 2025.
