The Judo School “Master Jorge Ricardo Heitzmann Dojo,” under the Sports and Recreation Secretariat of the Municipality of Esquel, welcomes individuals of all ages who are interested in the sport. This esteemed institution invites aspiring judo practitioners to join their team, where they will learn the art of falling and rising again.
Alejandro Mansilla: A Champion Leading the Way
Alejandro Mansilla, a two-time Argentine champion, serves as the judo teacher at the Sports Secretariat. The school offers free classes for both males and females, with availability in all levels. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7 to 9 p.m. for ages 5 to 17, and from 9 p.m. for ages 18 and above.
An Open Invitation to Experience Judo
There are no specific requirements for those interested in participating. Simply come and observe a class on the designated days and times. Mansilla emphasizes the gradual integration of new students into the team, stating, “It is always little by little, and at the beginning, both I and the rest of the team focus on inserting the new student.”
Judo: A Path to Softness and Resilience
“Judo is the path to softness, where camaraderie and friendship are sought,” Mansilla explains. He highlights the importance of learning to rise after falls, not only on the tatami but also in life. Mansilla’s classes aim to instill this valuable life lesson in his students.
A Journey Towards Excellence
On Thursday, the 28th, seven students from the Judo School will travel to Caleta Olivia for high-performance training. Mansilla expresses his gratitude to the Sports Secretariat for their support in organizing this activity. This initiative not only benefits the present participants but also contributes to the future growth and development of judo in the community.
