Furlani Leads Italy’s Largest Ever World Athletics Indoor Championships Team

Italy has named a 26-strong squad for the World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26, featuring a mix of global medallists, European champions and rising talents.

Defending Champion Headlines Italian Squad

The team is led by Mattia Furlani, the defending champion in the long jump. The outdoor world champion recently equalled his indoor PB of 8.39m and heads to Poland off an undefeated indoor campaign so far.

Strong Medal Contenders Across Disciplines

Furlani is one of several strong Italian medal hopes in the field events. European indoor long jump champion Larissa Iapichino will look to challenge for a global medal, although Andy Diaz Hernandez returns as the defending champion in the triple jump.
