Change in basketball at Gambetta College in Cahors

It takes the determination and full cooperation of all stakeholders for the project to see the light of day; but it’s finally done!
This Friday, September 13, a dozen middle school students took full advantage of their first joint training from 1 pm to 3 pm principal of Gambetta college, under the leadership of coaches Eldon Keïta and Lucie Prévost-Verdier (Pradines Lot Basket) and Sylvain Bossuet (CahorSauzet Basket).
The first idea seems logical; find an appropriate solution to raise the level of graduates from the Lot department but also prepare those who want to participate in the U18 sports section that has existed for many years within the Clément Marot high school.
A continuity is therefore found in this concrete project of “Classes with arranged schedules”, sponsored by the two main clubs of Lotois, CahorSauzet for men and Pradines Lot Basket for woman and who met from the beginning a careful listening from the head of the establishment. of Gambetta college, Valérie Carles, was very interested and inspired by the proposal.
It remains to find a slot, held at the Palais des Sports in Cahors, which welcomes every Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm .
If the experience proves positive, it may be extended to 5th grade students in the future.
Scheduled classes are specific systems established in partnership with artistic institutions (or as here with sports associations), with the college arranging the timetables to allow young people to practice their favorite activity more intensively.
There are already classes with flexible schedules in the Lot: CHAT in Gambetta (theatre), CHAM in Olivier de Magny (Music). Like classes with flexible schedules like theater or music, the basketball experiment began at Gambetta with great enthusiasm.
