The Truyes dojo, inaugurated in 2010, is used by three different martial arts sections. The Truyes judo club, first and only occupied when it was put into service; the Karate club Val de l’Indre, which arrived later and finally, aikido, the latest arrival, in 2019.
Usually practiced separately, the idea came to the managers of these three clubs to combine these three disciplines to organize joint training and share their experiences. This meeting took place on Sunday December 15, 2024, but without the karate club, due to the absence of Céline Tournemiche, manager and teacher of the karate club, who was ill.
Find complementary techniques
So only judoka and aikidoka exchanged techniques during the morning, guided by Emile Renner, 4th dan in judo, and Florent Doreau, 4th dan in aikido and president of the club. “We agreed to work on the land, they explained. Because in judo we can continue the fight on the ground, by finding immobilization for one or by regaining the initiative by freeing ourselves for the other. In aikido, the movement is completed when one is on the ground. We discover new techniques, find out what can be complementary to it. »
Maxime Le Dû, president of the judo club, is convinced in this way: “We’ll do it again”he was happy.
