Pakistan is going to host an ICC event after 28 years. Therefore, the mood of the festival is going on in the whole country. To add to that excitement and engage the cricket lovers, the trophy tour of ‘ICC Champions Trophy-2025’ is starting from tomorrow Saturday in Pakistan. From November 16 to 24, the trophy will tour various cities in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced which cities will host the ICC Champions Trophy. Soon after its announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) objected to the trophy tour in three cities. Due to their objections, the ICC today announced that the three cities have been banned from the trophy tour on Friday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed the government of their country about this matter of ICC.
The three cities are Skardu in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, Muri, one of the world’s most popular tourist areas, and Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Azad Kashmir. There is conflict and tension between India and Pakistan over these places.
The trophy tour was scheduled to start from Skardu valley on Saturday. Then K2 was supposed to go to Beige Camp, Murree, Hunza and Muzaffarabad. But it remains to be seen if Pakistan makes any changes in this tour due to India’s objection.
Meanwhile, this is the first time that the trophy tour is starting before the release of any ICC tournament schedule. Although the schedule has already been finalized. It was supposed to be released on 11th of this month. But the ICC is delaying the release of the schedule after India decided not to come to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy.
