Jayden Quaintance Lands at Kentucky, Brings Elite Freshman Potential to Mark Pope’s Squad
Kentucky Wildcats fans, prepare for a new force on the hardwood. Jayden Quaintance, a 6-foot-9 forward who previously starred at Arizona State, has officially committed to Mark Pope’s program, set to join the team for the 2025-26 season. This acquisition signals a significant injection of talent and defensive prowess to the Wildcats’ lineup.
“Jayden is a 17-year-old phenom who is as explosive as he is skilled, and he is just scratching the surface of what he’s going to become in this game,” said Mark Pope. “He’s an incredibly bright kid who is already postering anyone in Big Blue Nation in a game of chess and he and his family couldn’t be more excited to finally get to wear the Blue and White.”
Dominating Freshman Season at Arizona State
Quaintance’s impact at Arizona State was immediate and remarkable. Starting all 24 games, he averaged 9.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game, while shooting a stellar 52.5% from the field. These numbers earned him well-deserved recognition, landing him on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. Furthermore, he was one of 15 players nationwide chosen for the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year Watch List in early February.
“I’m just focused on getting better every day and helping my team win,” Quaintance stated after signing his letter of intent.
