Cavs Dominate, Take 3-0 Series Lead Over Heat
The Miami Heat’s redeeming opportunity in Game 3 of the NBA Finals didn’t quite go as planned. Despite a promising start and the absence of Cleveland Cavaliers’ point guard Darius Garland, the Heat succumbed to the Cavs’ superior teamplay, losing 108-84 and facing a potential series sweep.
Game Starts with a Surprise
Garland, who had been vocal about targeting Heat’s Tyler Herro, was absent. The Heat started strong with a 9-2 run, led by Kel’el Ware’s impressive performance. However, Cleveland quickly rebounded, and Miami failed to score for over four minutes. The Cavs closed the first quarter leading 33-20.
Heat’s Intense Second Quarter Falls Short
The Heat attempted to boost defense and bench Herro, but struggled to make significant gains. Coach Erik Spoelstra was forced to call a timeout with Miami trailing 50-32. Despite the break, the Heat went into halftime significantly behind, 62-42.
Cavs Absorb Heat’s Comeback Attempts
Miami tried to rally in the second half, but Cleveland responded with ease. The Cavs maintained a comfortable lead, withkey contributions from Kevin Love and Isaac Okoro. Miami’s frustration grew, and Cleveland cruised to an 84-64 lead going into the final quarter.
The Sweep Looms
With the 3-0 lead, the Cavs are one win away from clinching the NBA Championship. Game 4 is scheduled for Monday, June 12.
