Isaiah Hartenstein will soon make his comeback for the national team. The Wagner brothers also defeated Dennis Schröder. All update news.
Big penalty for Westbrook
Russell Westbrook must pay a $35,000 fine. The reason was a foul play during the 145:118 loss against the New York Knicks.
The Denver Nuggets guard lost his head in the fourth quarter. Westbrook was first blocked by Josh Hart driving to the basket, then reprimanded by the Knicks players for the wrong step. After a three-pointer in front of the opposing bench, he finally turned around and made the penalty move.
This is not the first time that the point guard has been sanctioned by the NBA. Among other things, he had to pay a fine in 2019 after clashing with a Utah Jazz fan.
Westbrook is generally known as a flashy player who likes to get into the heat of the moment.
Wagner won the match in Germany
Franz Wagner and his Orlando Magic defeated Dennis Schröder and the Brooklyn Nets 100:92 last night. Young brother Wagner scored 20 points, although his shooting percentage was not good. He collected most of his points at the free throw line, which shows how tough the game is. Moritz Wagner also had a solid game off the bench with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
“It was a chaotic game, but that’s what we did,” said Goga Bitadze, the German’s teammate.
Fellow world champion Dennis Schröder could not save his struggling team from defeat with 20 points. The Nets are currently battling injury concerns. Among other things, tight end Cam Thomas will be out for several weeks with a muscle injury.
The ball is injured
LaMelo Ball suffered a strained calf and will be out for less than two weeks. The injury occurred in the last quarter of the game against the Miami Heat. The Charlotte Hornets had to admit defeat 94:98.
The injury is bad considering the guard’s recent performance. He averaged just under 40 points in four games. LaMelo could also lighten up over time. He averaged just under 31 points and 6.9 assists.
Like his brother Lonzo Ball, who returned this season after a long injury, he was also plagued by bad luck with injuries. The ankle often bothered him and repeatedly resulted in short absences. He didn’t even play 50 percent of the possible games in his career.
DBB comeback for Hartenstein?
Isaiah Hartenstein will soon be playing for the national team again. In an interview with Sport1 he let it be known that he could follow the call of captain Dennis Schröder. “I’m definitely going to try to play one of these years,” Hartenstein said. However, he cannot guarantee full commitment as many factors play a role. The NBA has always been number one for him. This means that he will only play when he is fully fit and feeling well. In addition, his private environment must agree to participate in individual summers, because his “family always comes first,” added the OKC center.
Hartenstein was not considered under former national coach Gordon Herbert because he did not want to give a clear commitment about the duration of the three major tournaments. New coach Alex Mumbru, however, spoke in favor of the centre. However, the two have not yet been in direct contact. It remains exciting to see what happens in future conversations between the two.
The former New Yorker has fared well at his new club. He averaged a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
