Grigor Dimitrov’s executor won the tournament in Montreal

Alexey Popirin, who knocked out Grigor Dimitrov in the third round in Montreal, became the first champion from Australia at a tournament of the “Masters 1000” series in tennis after a break of 21 years.

He convincingly defeated the Russian Andrey Rublev (Russia) in the final with 6:2, 6:4.

Leighton Hewitt triumphed at Indian Wells in 2003 for the last Australian title before that.
