BREAKING GRENBLAN RECORDS: Women’s Tennis is Back in 2026!

A Grand Welcome Back

Following a briefpause in 2025 due to financial considerations, Grenoble Tennis Padel is thrilled to revive professional tennis tournaments on its indoor facilities. Mark your calendars for February 8 – 15, 2026, as the much-anticipated Women’s ITF tournament takes center stage in the covered hall of the GTP.

Why Women’s Only? A Strategic Focus

“Due to the financial orientation of private and public partners, almost exclusively supporting women’s tennis,” the GTP steering committee made a strategic decision to focus on organizing a women’s tournament. Although the men’s tournament (M15), Trophée de la Ville de Grenoble, had been held for six consecutive years up to 2024, the committee felt it was crucial to protect the financial balance of the tournaments and the club.

An Uplift to W50 Status: Attracting the World’s Best

The Women’s tournament will be elevated to W50 status, with a $40,000 prize fund. This prestigious ranking promises to draw elite players from the world top 100, along with competitive contenders just outside the top ranks.

“This will make it possible to attract some players… in the 15th Engie Open de l’Isère.”

Timely Placement on the Calendar

Well-positioned soon after the Australian Open and the Andrézieux-Bouthéon 42 Open (W75), the 15th Engie Open de l’Isère will have residents and visitors alike UP for some thrilling tennis action in the heart of the Alps.
