Golf Planète: What assessment do you get from your week?
Gregory Bourdy : There are some very good things, I am very happy to do this tournament again, it is close to my heart. It was a great week on paper, especially since I haven’t had many tournaments on the DP World Tour in recent years. There is a complex Saturday, but it is for everyone. Today, I started well, the complicated middle game did not allow me to score many points. In the end a bit disappointed with the result as there is room that could have been better. There are many positives to be gained.
GP In this critical season of the Challenge Tour (184th on the Road To Mallorca), make a cut in the DP World Tour should you be trusted?
GB Yes, it feels good. It’s been a few weeks since my game started working well again, but it doesn’t show much in the results. A bit annoying. There, I have more motivation by coming here to Crans-Montana, in the DP World Tour. Maybe it will improve me a bit for the end of the season. I still have a few tournaments to play on the Challenge Tour, I will give my best to achieve good performances.
GP What is your program for the future? Do you have cards in mind?
GB I will go to Portugal next week, then I will continue as normal in Italy before returning to Switzerland (three Challenge Tour tournaments). For cards, it depends on my results, I usually go for even PQ2 directly. But yes, whatever happens I will play them.
I felt that I still had something under my feet
GP Last year, you almost got a card in the first division through this method, was that the goal?
GB Either way, the goal is to recover a card on the turn. Either through the Challenge Tour or through the cards. Last year, I became very close. If I have to go through it again, I will definitely prepare myself to respond properly.
GP Do you feel like getting back to this level?
GB Yes I feel it. This week, I was able to make the cut that made some mistakes during the second round. I feel like I still have something under my belt, so that’s very positive. I really have everything to do better this week.
GP You are part of the C&S Golf Team, what can you tell us about it? Do you feel like you have a special role with other less experienced team players?
GB When Gérald Bouhourd asked me to join the team, I immediately said banco. It’s nice to have someone who believes in my plan to get back to the top level. I’m definitely in a different dynamic from some of the younger guys who haven’t experienced the trick. The door is open if they need advice. It’s good to be in a team, it creates an emulsion, we feel stronger.
