Last Sunday afternoon in Resana, in a full sports hall, the presentation event took place BIRD Project – Basketball Together Resana Dese. All the seniors, youth and mini-basketball teams in a movement that unites the clubs marched on the parquet Resana’s power e New Basketball Tenin the name of a sporting synergy that works on many levels, and connects basketball in the provinces of Treviso and Padua.
The event, presented by Luis Campagnaro, was attended by the highest administrative offices of the two Municipalities, with Stefano Bosa (Mayor of Resana), Cesare Mason (Mayor of Piombino Dese), Claudia Baesso (Resana Sports Council) e by Filippo Venturi (Sports Councilor of Piombino Dese). The Italian Basketball Federation was also present, together with the President of the Provincial Committee of Padua Flavio Camporese.
The President of Virtus Resana explained the project for the companies, Alberto Ragagnin: «This is a project that comes from afar and is not a simple collaboration, but a real union of forces. The reasons that led us to develop it are many. Meanwhile, the need to combine resources: now, also following the new sports reform, there are different needs than in the past, it is necessary to plan and provide security to children and their families as well. In addition, the need to join forces also arises from the need to have more and more competitive groups, to help children complete their youth careers without the risk of disrupting them in there is no time. Finally, our countries are close, and by joining forces also at the level of structures, we can distribute different groups and activities to meet the needs of all. I hope this is just the first of many days where we will present our projects together”.
For Nuova Pallacanestro Dese, due to the lack of involvement of the President Andrea Franceschithe Councilor spoke Enrico Rosa: “With great collaborations come great responsibilities – he said, borrowing a famous movie quote – The primary responsibility of both of our companies is to make kids feel amazing when they walk into the gym. I hope the Kingfisher wings seen in the BIRD logo will take this collaboration between our two companies further”.
The two teams were not the only ones to parade on the parquet Seniorbut also the Youth (Under 17, Under 15, Under 14, Under 13) e il Mini basketball (Beginners, Eaglets, Squirrels, Chicks), with their coaches and instructors. Everyone wears their new uniform, which is the same for every lineup, with red and green colors to unite the historical image of the two clubs.
A special space is also reserved for the newly formed group of Maybe Tena project dedicated to inclusive basketball involving disabled and able-bodied people in the game of basketball.
There is also time for field games, which mainly involve the little ones and their families, and for a little relaxation at the end.
