Bishnu Ghosh was a pioneer of yoga in the 1930s and “his” discipline actually represents a novelty in today’s fitness world. The great innovation of this practice is the integration of long-wave infrared panels to heat the environment. This technology, also widely used in the medical and sports fields, directly heats bodies and objectswithout excessively altering the air temperature, unlike traditional systems which heat the air.

“The result is a pleasant and homogeneous heat, which allows you to maintain natural and comfortable breathing”, explains Panarello. “I personally found a great benefit in this practice because it manages to make the body soft and flexible but at the same time strengthens it, thanks to the standing sequence which involves leg work which is decidedly weaker in other styles of yoga.”

The benefits of Ghosh Yoga

This type of warm-up has numerous benefits for yoga practitioners:

  • Increase in mobility: the heat facilitates muscle relaxation, allowing deeper and safer stretching, improving the execution of positions.
  • Accident prevention: by warming up the muscles, the risk of strains or muscle tension during practice is reduced.
  • Purification of the body: Heat-induced sweat helps eliminate toxins accumulated in the body, promoting a feeling of lightness and regeneration.
  • Improved blood circulation: exposure to infrared promotes vasodilation, improving blood flow and helping to reduce physical tension and stress.
  • Therapeutic effects: deep heat can relieve muscle and joint pain, making this practice also ideal for those suffering from stiffness or inflammation problems.
