Tayla Grauer (TSG Backnang – BW) won after a bye against Mongolian Batsuuri and Turkish Gulenay with Ippon in the last minute of the match. In the final of the pool, however, he had to accept the defeat of the Swiss Frohono by a technical stoppage and thus continued to fight in the consolation round. There he achieved a tactical victory against Razaty from Madagascar after almost seven minutes of fighting by punishing his opponent for the third time. He then won the small final for bronze without a fight as the Japanese Maeda was disqualified from the semi-finals. Tayla Grauer won the first medal for the German Judo Association at the Junior World Championships this year.

Helene Riegert (JC Wiesbaden – BW), Sara-Joy Bauer (TSG Backnang – BW) and Nele Noack (UJKC Potsdam – BB) won their opening bout, but lost in the next round and were eliminated. Artur Akopjan (TSV Hertha Walheim – NW), Armin Pacaritz (TV Wolbeck – NW) and Tanja Grünewald (TSV Altenfurt – BY) lost their opening matches and were also eliminated.

The two upper weight classes will compete this Saturday.

The following is the start of Germany:
