NBA: German-Brazilian Da Silva loses with Orlando
Without the Wagner brothers Franz and Moritz, who are still injured, the Orlando Magic suffered their fifth defeat in the past six games in the NBA. The Florida franchise lost 110-113 to the Denver Nuggets, where superstar Nikola Jokic recorded his 18th triple-double of the season. Rookie Tristan da Silva scored twelve points.
While Orlando takes seventh place in the Eastern Conference, the Nuggets remain one of the first pursuers of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the West. The league leaders won 127:101 against the Brooklyn Nets even without the injured Isaiah Hartenstein and improved their record to 35 wins and seven defeats.
Center Hartenstein suffered a strain last Tuesday in the win against the Philadelphia 76ers (118:102) and is expected to make his comeback later in the week. The outstanding player at Oklahoma was star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 27 points.
NHL: Seider and Red Wings lose again
German ice hockey professional Moritz Seider suffered his second defeat in a row with his Detroit Red Wings. Head coach Todd McLellan’s team lost 1:4 to the Dallas Stars. Seider remained without a goal for the first time in two games, but for the opponents from Texas it was their first win after two previous defeats.
The Red Wings are in 13th place in the Eastern Conference; Seider and Co. recently celebrated seven wins in a row. The Stars are fourth in the West.
