Georgi Kostadinov and APOEL lost 1:2 away to RFS “Riga” in the first playoff match to enter the Europa League main draw. The Bulgarian international was the starter for the Cypriot club and remained on the field throughout the match.

Cypriot coach David Gayego uses our midfielder in the atypical position for him as a central defender.

RFS Riga, who are managed by former CSKA midfielder Viktors Morozs, took a 2-0 lead through Cedric Quadio and Yannis Ikaunieks from the penalty spot.

APOEL reduced the lead in the 52nd minute when Youssef El Arabi was on target.
