The World Weightlifting Championships Riyadh 2023 is nearing its conclusion, and Colombian athlete Yeinny Geles Moreno has made a significant impact by adding two more medals to Colombia’s national medal table.
Colombian Weightlifting Team’s Impressive Performance
In the Saudi capital, the Colombian Weightlifting Team has showcased their prowess at the 14th world championship. Yeinny Geles, in particular, secured the runner-up position in the women’s 71-kilogram category, contributing to the team’s success.
Yeinny Geles demonstrated her strength and skill by achieving a weight of 138 kilograms in the clean and jerk, as well as a total of 244 kilograms. Additionally, she achieved fourth place in the snatch, lifting 106 kilograms.
Colombia’s Medal Tally
With Yeinny Geles’ outstanding performance, Colombia’s medal count in the global weightlifting event now stands at two gold medals, nine silver medals, and three bronze medals. The country has showcased its strength and determination throughout the championship.
The World Weightlifting Championship 2023 will conclude on Saturday, September 16, with Yeimar Mendoza and Óscar Garcés representing Colombia and bringing the national participation to a close.
