Gavi lasted just over 20 minutes on the field at Jose Zorrilla. The Barcelona midfielder was struck by an opponent and remained on the ground for a while, clutching his knee in pain. The National Team’s medical staff conducted tests to assess the extent of the injury. Despite being allowed to continue playing, Gavi hurt his right knee again while trying to control the ball. Initial examinations suggest a potentially serious injury, raising concerns about his cruciate ligament.

If it is confirmed that Gavi has torn his cruciate ligament in his right knee, he will likely miss the remainder of the season as well as important upcoming events such as the Eurocup and the Olympic Games next summer.

The midfielder had to leave the field during the second half of the match against Georgia, visibly in pain. While awaiting definitive medical confirmation, Barcelona is understandably worried about Gavi’s condition. Sancet replaced him on the field.

Absolutely. When you feel supported, loved, respected, it gives you wings. It makes you want to give your all for your teammates, for your country. Confidence is a real engine, and when you have it, you can accomplish anything.

What are your goals for the future?

My first objective is to go as far as possible in this World Cup. We have a strong team and I want to give everything to win the trophy. Then, I would like to continue to improve, to progress, to push my limits. I know I can still do better, and I am ready to work hard to get there.

A final word to conclude?

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who supported me, who believed in me. Thank you to my family, to my friends, to my teammates, to all the coaches who helped me progress. I am grateful for all this support, and I will continue to fight and give my all to proudly represent France on the pitch.
