Galician judo once again showed its strong state in the Spanish Absolute Championship, held in Las Palmas. Three individual titles and a total of eleven medals allowed them to win runner-up status as a regional team, surpassed only by the Valencian Community. 295 judokas competed (150 men and 145 women).

Galicia has shown muscle since registration. With 37 judokas (24 men and 13 women), theirs is the third largest expedition after Valencia with 42 (22 and 20) and the mighty Madrid, which took 77 (39 and 38) . The capitalists, however, did not even reach the team podium. Lots of medals, but only one gold, plus three silvers and eight bronzes. On the other hand, Valencia collected five gold, two silver and nine bronze; Galicia, three gold, four silver and two bronze; and Extremadura, three gold and one bronze.

In the men’s teams, the best Galician results were obtained by José Antonio Olalla (gold at -73 kg), Alexis Rosa (silver at -81), Zaza Jandieri (silver at -90) and Anderson Coton (bronze at -60). In the women’s events, they are Estrella López (gold in -57), June Moreno (gold in -78), Ana Vizoso (silver in -78), María Rey (bronze in -70) and Laura Vázquez, who added a national silver of – 63 kg in the European center in the under 23 category that he revalidated in mid-November in Poland.
