Fuel prices early 2025: increases for petrol and diesel

According to the latest survey of average weekly prices from the Mimit fuel observatory, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased

2025 is off to a rocky start when it comes to fuels. According to the survey of 6 January 2025, i.e. the first of the year, of the Mimit fuel observatory (Ministry of Business and Made in Italy), the average price of gas between December 30th and January 5th it was 1.773 euros per litretherefore higher by 16 thousandths (+0.90%) compared to the previous week. That of diesel was 1.672 euros per litrehigher by 16 thousandths (+0.95%) compared to that of the last survey. LPG decreased by one thousandth (-0.18%) to 0.742 euros per litre, while methane rose by 9 thousandths (+0.65%) to 1.422 euros per kilo.

These are the average prices of petrol and diesel in the countries of the European Union according to the weekly survey of the European Commission dated 30 December 2024. The country in which the highest prices for petrol and diesel were recorded are the Netherlands. The lowest ones, however, were recorded in Bulgaria (the Malta diesel figure would be the lowest ever, but it has been unchanged/not updated for months).
