Thirty-three students were admitted to the ordinary course of Chemistry at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa from 250 candidates from all over Italy. Among them is Daniele Caiulo from Empoli, who recently graduated from Il Pontormo scientific high school in Empoli, specializing in Applied Sciences. “To enter the Normale you have to pass two written tests and then two more oral tests and passing the written tests is really a great pleasure – starting at 19 years old -. Then , in fact, when the final ranking came out a certain I know now that I feel that I got in, also because of comparing myself with other men I feel that I also did well in oral examinations”. A prestigious result that fills Daniele and his family with pride. “To get the tests I had to study a lot during the summer, but in the end I reached the goal I set for myself – continued Caiulo – When did I understand that I wanted to try this path ? During a one-week chemistry internship that I always did inside the prestigious University of Pisa, where I passed another admission test, but simpler (smiles ed.) During that time, in fact, I met many men inside at the University and I understand that this is also the path I want to follow.”
In short, despite his youth, Caiulo already has clear ideas. “My passion is science in general, I really like physics, chemistry and mathematics and the Chemistry course at the Normal School is the one that best satisfies my needs – explained the young man from Empoli -. to the high school teachers, not only in my class, but to others that I know and always encourage my will, but above all I have to thank some children who are already students at the Normale” .
The club and all his teammates from Asd Kodokan Empoli, where the 19-year-old has been practicing judo for a year, also congratulate Daniele Caiulo. In fact, despite the commitment he always put into his studies, he never lacked in sports activity. “I practiced water polo for many years, which is my favorite sport, but last year I preferred judo – he said -. And I want to thank the Pallanuoto Empoli club and the Kodokan Empoli because they both supported I and always try to help me. If on the sporting side there are no big successes, on the scholastic side Caiulo has undoubtedly achieved great satisfaction. “I only practice Judo in the gym, so I don’t know what it feels like to win a tatami competition, but certainly entering a prestigious university like La Normale is very important to me.”
