The French flag waved proudly at the top of the leaderboard in the men’s Stroke Play competition, which took place from Saturday to Monday over 54 holes. Jean-Charles Maiser, the new hero from France, secured the victory with a total of +1, maintaining a one-stroke lead over Britain’s Ronnie Clark and three strokes ahead of Denmark’s Morten Findsen Schou.
The top 5 also included another French player, Jean-Jacques Wolff, who finished fifth with a score of +5.
Ladies’ Golf the Construction Seniors: Court Wins in Playoff
In parallel, the lady golfers battled it out in their own international individuals in the seniors category, held at Golf the Construction in Anjou. The tense competition went into a five-hole playoff before Jordane Court emerged victorious, tying with France’s Hélène Malvy at +7.
The purely French podium was completed by Carole Danten-Azfi, who finished third at +9.
