The Fortinet Cup ends this week with the Fortinet Cup Championship as the final event. At the end of this week we will know the 10 players who will win the Korn Ferry Tour card for 2025. Among the eighteen Latin Americans who are part of this field, there are fifteen who will mathematically enter the top 10 if they win the Fortinet Cup Championship. In the case of Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, Julián Etulain and Jesús Montenegro, a victory could push them to fourth place in the Fortinet Cup.
As such, the first round of the competition saw Andrés Gallegos, Fernández de Oliveira himself and Martín Contini as the Argentines with the best scores. All three recorded 70 strokes at the end of the day, to put themselves in twenty-third place, far from the top positions led by Brendon Doyle of the United States with 64 strokes. For their part, Jesús Montenegro and Marcos Montenegro have 71, while Tommy Cocha has 72, as well as Franco Romero. Julián Etulain with 73 and Jaime López Rivarola with 76 closed the Argentine participation for this first round.
