Fils’ Masterclass Performance

The match lasted just 55 minutes, with Fils dictating play and capitalizing on 28 unforced errors from Tsitsipas. Fils won an impressive 89% of his first-serve points (16/18) and saved both break points he faced.

That’s one of the best matches I’ve ever played, said Fils following his win. I have played some great matches before, but this level was insane. I don’t grasp what to say, but very happy with the performance.

Comeback from Injury

This strong showing comes after Fils ended his 2025 season due to a back injury sustained in Toronto. He made a successful return to the Tour in Montpellier last month, followed by a final appearance in Doha and a quarter-final run at Indian Wells.

I am fully back, Fils stated. It feels like I never left. It feels very, very good.

Head-to-Head Dominance

With this victory, Fils improves his head-to-head record against Tsitsipas to 5-0. He is also the first Frenchman to reach the fourth round in Miami in consecutive years since Gael Monfils in 2015-16.

Next Round Matchup

Fils will next face Valentin Vacherot, who defeated Matteo Berrettini 7-6(5), 6-4 in his third-round match. Vacherot has recorded 10 tour-level wins this season.
