FIFA will announce the winners of ‘The Best’ awards on Tuesday

Colombians are the nominees for the annual awards The Best FIFA 2024:

• James Rodriguezthanks to his outstanding performance in the Copa América 2024, where he was considered one of the best players in the tournament, he is among the possible selections for the men’s ideal team.
• Mayra Ramireza forward for the women’s team and a Chelsea player in the Women’s Premier League, has been recognized for her impact on women’s football and is also competing for a place in the women’s Best XI.

Of the eleven nominees, more than half are Real Madrid players (Carvajal, Valverde, Bellingham, Kroos and Vini, in addition to Mbappé, who played the first part of the season with Paris SG) and the list also includes Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal.

Among women, 16 players aspire to the trophy, although the favorite is the Spanish Aitana Bonmatíwinner of the last Ballon d’Or and winner of ‘The Best’ in 2023.

‘The Best’ awards will also crown the best coaches in men’s and women’s football and the best goalkeeper and goalkeeper.

The winners of the ‘Marta’ and ‘Puskas’ awards for the best goals of the year in women’s and men’s football, respectively, will also be announced.

The winners will be announced at a virtual event to be held in Doha (Qatar) on the eve of Real Madrid and Pachuca compete in the final of the Intercontinental Cup.

The winners are appointed after a vote in which fans, media representatives and the national team selectors and captains participate.
