FC Bayern basketball players have addressed their injury problems and signed former NBA professional Onuralp Bitim (25). As announced by the Munich team, the Turkish winger is on loan from Fenerbahce Istanbul until the end of the season. Bitim already has a long-term contract there. Last season he played in the North American professional league for the Chicago Bulls and he played 23 games. Basketball legend Michael Jordan’s former team parted ways with him in mid-October.
“After two players in the wing position, Niels Giffey and then Vlado Lucic, were injured and we were still missing, the coaching staff and the team managed the situation well. But this additional workload could not be managed responsibly in the long term. That’s why we’re looking for a solution and now we’re very happy that we got a talented and versatile player for us in Onuralp,” said sports director Dragan Tarlac, explaining the commitment to the forward. Bitim will join the Munich team next week.
