The FC Barcelona football club has been fined millions of euros for incorrectly reporting its profits from intangible activities in the 2022 season.
UEFA’s Decision on Barcelona
The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) has reached a verdict in the case involving FC Barcelona (ESP) and the decision made by the CFCB Premier League on July 13, 2023.
During the hearing at the CFCB’s First Chamber, it was revealed that Barcelona had wrongly declared 500,000 euros in benefits from intangible activities in the 2022 financial year. These activities, which are separate from player transfers, do not meet the criteria for being considered a significant factor according to the regulations.
The CFCB Appeals Chamber has now made the following decisions:
– Dismiss the appeal filed by FC Barcelona.
– Uphold the decision of the CFCB’s First Chamber.
