Families of fallen soldiers from Camp Naaba-Koom 2: Direct-Aid speaks from the heart

The NGO Direct-Aid proceeded, this Saturday morning, to the delivery of food and non-food kits to orphans and widows of fallen soldiers and soldiers injured in operations at Camp Naaba-Koom 2. The ceremony was chaired by the Chief of Cabinet of the President of Faso, Ousmane SANDWIDI, representing the Director of the Cabinet.

Worth 13 million 500 thousand CFA francs, the donation from the NGO Direct-Aid is made up of bags of rice, bags of local couscous, sachets of spaghetti, cans of oil, cartons of sugar, boxes of tomato cans, boxes of soap, blankets, mosquito nets and shoes. According to the country representative of the NGO, Boukhanfra RADOUANE, the objective is to contribute to strengthening the resilience capacities of the families of combatants, as part of the psychosocial week organized by the military command of Camp Naaba-Koom 2 from 23 to September 27 last year.

“Our gesture is part of our organization’s support for the Burkinabè government in its fight for the well-being of the population. We came to assist the families of our brave soldiers who fought for security and peace in this country,” said Mr. RADOUANE.
He specified that the NGO Direct-Aid works almost in all socio-economic areas. “Through our various partnerships, we have programs for 2025 which affect all these sectors (…) And we will work so that these programs are carried out for the benefit of the vulnerable populations of Burkina Faso.

Direct-Aid will always remain alongside the Burkinabe authorities to help meet the country’s humanitarian challenges,” he maintained.

The Commander of the Republican Guard, Battalion Chief Souleymane ZANGO reassured that with the social action and wounded office in operation, the two hundred (200) beneficiary families have been listed and each family will leave with their kit. While praising the gesture of the NGO Direct-Aid, which according to him, “raises the morale of the troops operating on the ground”, he invited people of good will to join this chain of solidarity.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the NGO Direct-Aid for this support. “From this gesture, we knew that there are people who always think of us. I salute this act of solidarity and I encourage our soldiers who are on the ground not to give up because we all hope for a better tomorrow of peace and total security for our country,” declared family spokesperson Monique BONKOUNGOU.

The Chief of Staff of the President of Faso, Ousmane SANDWIDI who chaired the ceremony on behalf of the Chief of Staff, hoped that this chain of solidarity would manifest itself in the daily actions of each Burkinabè.
