Television coverage of the 21st round of the season: qualifying and the race will be broadcast live on Sky Sport F1 and streaming on NOW. Also live on Saturday on TV8, with the Sprint at 3pm
The three-way sporting duel for the Formula 1 world title between Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing, 362 points in the general classification), Lando Norris (McLaren, 315) and a Scuderia Ferrari team in great form, with Charles Leclerc (291) and Carlos Sainz (240) aiming to confirm their excellent form also at the Brazilian Grand Prix, scheduled from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 November 2024. The twenty-first round of the season offers a double comparison over the weekend, with the Sprint Race on Saturday representing a further element of challenge for the contenders, with the reigning world champion who could suffer a penalty on the starting grid following the introduction of a new engine on the RB20. In a red-tinged Mexico, however, the Dutch driver became the protagonist of a rough duel with his direct pursuer which forced him to pay the price in terms of timing, given that the stewards applied a double sanction to the single-seater with the number one on the sides. But the criticism of the car continues incessantly, also from the mouth of father Jos, and in view of the sprint for the Constructors’ championship it is now Ferrari (537 points) chasing the hare McLaren (566), while Red Bull does not go beyond third position (512). Certainly the leader of the world championship series knows well how to win in these parts, given that in the last edition he signed both the qualifications and the two weekend competitions, while previously it was the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton (2021) and George Russell (2022) to triumph on Brazilian soil. The last success of a Red dates back to 2017 with Sebastian Vettel, while in view of the debut in the F1 World Championship, already set for 2026, Audi led by Mattia Binotto has decided to hire Ferrari driver Ignacio “Iñaki” Rueda, future Sports Director of the house of the Four Rings.
