Ecobonus incentives for cars with emissions between 61 and 135 g/km of CO2 are sold out. This category includes petrol, diesel and hybrid cars capable of respecting the aforementioned emissions range. The funds allocated to this group amounted to approximately 276.6 million euros and they sold out in just under 5 months, between the beginning of June 2024 and the end of October of the same year. An eternity compared to the incentives for electric cars, which ended a few hours after the start of click day. As for cars, incentives are still available for plug-in hybrid cars, included in the emissions range between 21 and 60 g/km of CO2.

As mentioned, government incentives for plug-in hybrid cars are still available: as of 31 October 2024, the funds for the 21-60 g/km CO2 range still amount to over 80 million euros. Incentives to buy a plug-in hybrid car can be obtained both with and without scrapping. The spending limit to obtain the incentive is 45,000 without VAT (therefore 54,900 with VAT). The amount of the state contribution also changes based on your ISEE. By scrapping a Euro 0-2 car you can get an incentive of 8,000 if you have an ISEE greater than or equal to of 30,000 euros, while it reaches up to 10,000 for those with an ISEE lower than this threshold. By scrapping a Euro 3 the discounts are respectively 6,000 euros for the highest ISEE range and 7,500 for the lowest one; the contributions drop to 5,500 euros and 6,875 euros respectively by scrapping a Euro 4. Euro 5 scrapping chapter: in this case only buyers with ISEE under 30,000 euros are entitled to a contribution of 5,000 euros. Without scrapping the incentive amounts to 4,000 euros for the highest ISEE range and 5,000 for the lowest.
