Ebersberg and Munich Clinics are bridging the gap in children’s emergency care with Telemergency Kids, a telemedicine project that connects pediatric emergency doctors with local hospitals.

Filling the Gap in Children’s Emergency Care

In 2024, Ebersberg’s emergency room cared for over 3,000 children and adolescents under 18. While life-threatening cases are addressed by specialized children’s clinics, non-serious but still urgent cases lack immediate, tailored medical advice.

Introducing Telemergency Kids

telemergency Kids aims to fill this gap by providing direct video consultations (telekonsil) between pediatric emergency doctors at Munich Clinic Schwabing and children admitted to Ebersberg’s emergency room. This collaborative approach ensures the best possible decision-making, reducing waiting times, transfers, and parental stress.

Benefits for All

  • Quicker, more accurate medical decisions for children.
  • Reduced unnecessary patient transfers and waiting times.
  • Stress relief for parents by overcoming geographical barriers to expert care.
  • Relief for emergency rooms and specialized children’s clinics.
  • A model for nationwide digital networks in pediatric emergency care.

“Telemergency Kids is a game-changer for our communities. It ensures children get the right care, at the right time, in the right place.”
