IBF champion Daniel Dubois said after knocking out Anthony Joshua in front of nearly 100,000 people at Wembley Stadium that he never stopped believing in himself.

“I couldn’t help but win. I knew this was my night. I want to thank my family. They have been with me through it all and kept me mentally strong the whole time.

Critics doubted me and kept saying I would be knocked out. Well, you saw who was knocked out. I’m glad I proved everyone wrong. This is just the beginning of my journey. I feel like a champion and I want to keep the belt,” Dubois said at the post-match press conference.

“The last year has been a growing process. At times it was like I was dreaming in the ring. I had to grab the opportunity with both hands and I did. My next targets are Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. I want a rematch with Usyk. I need to reach my full potential.

I was invincible today. It turned out to be a good match. Whatever Joshua tried, I would fight back,” added the 27-year-old Londoner.
