North Dordogne’s Judo Club de la Coquille Makes Waves on the Mat

In a breakthrough for small clubs in the North Dordogne region, the Judo Club de la Coquille, chaired by Valérie Druineau, has a licensee selected for the Dordogne team in the minimal category. This is a first for the region.

About Judo Club de la Coquille

The club, with a growing membership of 93 licensees, has seen a 20% increase since 2024. This progress can be attributed to the club’s excellent results at the Paris Olympic Games and its diverse offerings.

Upcoming Events and Development

The Departmental Judo Committee is hosting a development and strategy course in Coulounieix-Chamiers at the Departmental Dojo in April. Later this month, a French Cup by teams will take place in Ceyrat (63) on May 10-11.

Team Showdowns in Ceyrat

The boys’ team from Dojo de la Coquille will face teams from the Oise and Hauts-de-Seine on Saturday, May 10, starting at 8 AM. The girls will meet teams from the North department and Guadeloupe on Sunday, May 11, at 11:30 AM.

The Departmental Judo Committee will coordinate and transport the selected teams, partnering with the Haute-Vienne Judo Committee to minimize costs.
