Decathlon Introduces New Affordable Direct-Mount Roller for Virtual Cycling
Decathlon continues its mission to make sports accessible to all with the launch of a new direct-mount roller. This innovative product features electronically controlled resistance at an unbeatable price, making it a game-changer in the market. Now, there are no more excuses for not exploring the virtual worlds of Zwift or MyWhoosh.
Van Rysel D100: A More Affordable Option for Virtual Cycling
Decathlon’s latest addition to its catalog is the Van Rysel D100, a direct mount interactive roller that offers a simpler and more economical way to enter the world of virtual cycling. Compared to its predecessors, the D100 is smaller in size and has more modest features. Its maximum resistance is set at 600 W, equivalent to a simulated slope of 6%, which is more than sufficient for most cyclists.
RECOMMENDED
The Van Rysel D100 is compatible with conventional quick release closures and standard 12 mm through closures. However, it only supports the HG system, specifically the Shimano standard. This means that it may not be suitable for bikes with a 12v SRAM AXS groupset or those using a Campagnolo cassette.
In terms of connectivity, the D100 only supports the Bluetooth protocol. While this may pose a limitation depending on the virtual cycling application and the number of devices to be connected, it still provides a seamless experience. However, it does not support the ANT+ FE-C, which means the ERG function for interval training is not available.
One notable feature of the Van Rysel D100 is its low noise level, making it ideal for apartment dwellers. It is available for purchase on the Decathlon website at an unbeatable price of €249.99, providing access to the virtual worlds of popular virtual cycling applications without breaking the bank.
