David Villa became the center of attention during his visit to the Real Sporting Gijón expedition in Alcorcón last weekend. The former red and white player shared his thoughts:
“I didn’t know that Sporting was coming to the hotel next to where I live,” said David Guerra. “He told me and I stopped by to say hello to David. I hadn’t seen him in a while. We’ve experienced very nice things in New York. I was also with Joaquín. I’ve seen the players and I wish them good luck.”
“I hope the streak of results continues. I hope Sporting can be promoted to the First Division this year. There have been difficult moments, but this year feels different. Not only because of the victories, but also because of the positive energy the team exudes,” Villa added.
An example of this positive energy was seen in the match against Amorebieta. Although Sporting didn’t manage to secure a victory, their performance deserved much more. The team’s spirit and determination were evident, and that is something to be enjoyed,” Villa expressed.

Sporting Femenino suffered a tough loss against Real Sociedad B in Zubieta. Despite having several scoring chances, Rafa Bernal’s team conceded a goal in injury time, resulting in a 1-0 defeat.
The red and whites will face Zaragoza CFF next Sunday at the Mareo Football School for the 12th matchday of the league competition.
