Lionel Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami has caused a major sensation. One of the key figures behind the Argentine’s move to the United States was David Beckham. However, beyond what is seen on the field, something extraordinary happened: Messi’s Golden Ball ceremony became a grand event organized to honor the fans of the Florida club. Nevertheless, it was a viral social media post by one of the main characters in Messi’s story, Harper, that caught everyone’s attention.

“Met a friend in the campo. And no, it’s not Harper Seven. Sorry, we can’t keep it. We have enough GOATs right now,” wrote Beckham on Instagram, along with a photo of the adorable kid. It turns out that the animal was adopted by Beckham’s son, Brooklyn, at his wedding.

Lionel Messi’s status as the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) was reaffirmed by the world, thanks to the meaning behind Beckham’s words: Greatest Of All Times (or in Spanish, el más grande de todos los tiempos). Let’s just say it’s a play on words with the Spanish word for “goat” (“cabra”).

“I Feel at Home, Grateful”

“Messi, Messi, Messi” echoed throughout the DRV PNK stadium as Inter Miami fans celebrated their new star. “Thank you for this beautiful tribute. It’s an honor to be compared to the legends who have played here,” said Messi.

“I have felt a lot of affection here, I truly feel at home. This city has a large Latino community, and I feel very comfortable. We have a great team, and we are grateful for the support. The upcoming year will be even better, and we will enjoy it and aim for more titles,” Messi added.
