Together again, side by side. Alberto Contador and Chris Froome are back riding together. The opportunity presented itself with a training session in Miami, in the United States, together with some mutual friends. This reunion between cycling stars was made known by the former Spanish champion, who retired in 2017. Contador shared a photo together with the Briton from the Israel-Premier Tech team. The description used for the post, later taken up by Froome himself, is emblematic: “Remembering old battles”. A topic that Alberto and Chris could talk about for perhaps days. There were many duels on the roads of Italy, France and Spain between 2012 and 2017.

Contador-Froome was a clash of styles. The Spaniard was elegant and seemed to dance on the pedals, swaying with his own rhythm while taking violent shots. Almost always in the saddle, the Briton was recognizable for his wide elbows and agile pedaling. So fast that it seemed supersonic when Chris accelerated, like on Mont Ventoux in 2013.
