On Sunday, at the Jorge Silva Valenzuela municipal stadium, Colchagua CD won 3-1 over Municipal Mejillones, a match valid for the 18th round of the Third Division A.

The San Fernando team, who were coming off a win away from home in the middle of the week, needed to rehabilitate at home to believe again and continue dreaming of reaching promotion.

Gerardo Silva’s team was better than its rival, and this was evident on the scoreboard. In the 45th minute, striker Javier Medina opened the scoring, and after the break, midfielder Álvaro Garrido made it 2-0 (48′) reassuringly.

What’s more, Garrido himself made it 3-0 in the 61st minute, already defining the match. Of course, Mejillones could have reduced the deficit in the 71st minute thanks to a header from Bastián Fowler.

With this victory, Colchagua reaches 33 points, remaining in fourth place in the table, still 7 points away from the second promotion spot, which is currently held by Deportes Colina.
