He said the China-Africa community with a shared future is rooted in traditional friendship. “Since the middle of the last century, we have fought side by side against imperialism, colonialism and hegemonism and advanced hand in hand on the path of development, recovery and modernization. No matter how the international situation changes, China-Africa friendship is perpetuated and consolidated over time,” he said.
The China-Africa community with a shared future, according to President Xi, is distinguished by win-win cooperation. “24 years ago, FOCAC was established. Relying on this important platform, we have worked together to build roads, railways, schools, hospitals, industrial parks and special economic zones. These projects have changed the lives and destinies of many people,” he said.
In the Chinese president’s view, building a community with a shared future is a common dream of all mankind, and modernization is imperative for this dream to become a reality. “I believe that as long as the more than 2.8 billion Chinese and African people work in unity, we will make brilliant achievements on the path of modernization, guide the vigorous development of modernization in the Global South, and make greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind,” he said.
