The Chadian government announced this Thursday, November 2024, the end of the security and defense cooperation agreement with France.

According to Foreign Minister Abderaman Koulamallah, this decision aims to assert the sovereignty of the country after 66 years of independence.

Although the breakup is described as non-hostile, it reflects a desire to redefine partnerships according to national priorities. France’s official reaction has not yet been communicated.
