Carlos Silvahis full name Carlos Francisco Santos da Silva was a Portuguese footballer and coach who was born on April 9, 1934 in Lisbon and died on February 4, 2007. During his playing career, he played as a defender.
Carlos Silva started his professional career at CF Belenenses in 1953. He stayed there until 1961, playing 119 games and scoring 6 goals.[1].
He then joined GD CUF in 1961, where he played 22 games and scored 1 goal in three seasons.[1].
His last experience as a professional player took place at SU Sintrense between 1964 and 1966[1].
After his playing career, Carlos Silva started a coaching career. It was at GD CUF, between 1969 and 1971, that he made his debut as a coach.[2].
In 1971 he joined FC Barreirense, where he spent two seasons until 1973[2].
For the 1973-1974 season, he was appointed coach of SC Farense[2].
He had two seasons at the head of Atlético CP between 1974 and 1976.[2].
Silva then returned to Atlético CP for the 1977–1978 season, consolidating the achievements of his previous positions. But it was at SC Olhanense, from 1980 to 1984, that he had one of his longest experiences, spending four seasons at the head of the first team.[2].
After several years away from football, Silva returned to Atlético CP in 1991 for one season, before leading SC Olhanense again in the 1992-1993 season.[2].
Finally, Carlos Silva came full circle by returning to Atlético CP for two final seasons between 1993 and 1995. He ended his coaching career there.[2].
