Former national team captain Aminul Islam Bulbul watched the first ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan while sitting on the field. She was part of the Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He watched the first ODI in Dubai before returning to Australia. But the performance of Bangladesh broke his heart. This former cricketer cannot accept the team’s collapse in any way.

He believed that Bangladesh would be able to chase down the target of 236 runs set by Afghanistan. But Bulbul is only annoyed by the team’s procession of batsmen and poor planning. He is also raising the question whether the team had any plan in batting.

Aminul Islam wrote on social media, ‘Today after six years, I went to Sharjah on the invitation of the Afghanistan board and watched the match of the Bangladesh team sitting on the field. There can be wins and losses, but I was really surprised by the captaincy and the batting plan.’

He added, ‘Everything looked tired; The body language, the attention to the ball, the pre-ball routine, the overall planning seemed very poor. Hopefully we can improve this situation very soon.’

Taking full advantage of the slow wicket, Taskin Ahmed and Mostafizur Rahman took 4 wickets each. Pacer Shariful Islam got 1 wicket. The batsmen are also responding well. 120 runs for 2 wickets raised the possibility of victory. Medium quality goals are always difficult in Sharjah. Along with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi along with new spinner Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar was the cause of fear. That’s it. Ghazanfar got 6 wickets for 26 runs. Rashid took 2 wickets and Nabi took 1 wicket. Bangladesh lost 8 wickets for just 23 runs in the poison of the spin trio and wrapped up for 143 runs with a huge defeat of 92 runs.

Bangladesh did not win any of the 8 matches played in Sharjah before. In the ninth match, a miserable experience has also been added. Aminul hopes the team will turn around. Captain Shanto also vowed to turn around in the second match. But can Bangladesh really stop Durbar Afghanistan? That is the big question. The second ODI will be held at the same ground on Saturday.
