Brooks Koepka’s Future: LIV Golf Uncertainty Raises PGA Tour Return Possibilities

Uncertainty Surrounds Brooks Koepka’s LIV Golf Future

Rumors have been circulating that Brooks Koepka, one of LIV Golf’s major faces since joining in 2022, may not play in the 2026 season. This uncertainty raises the possibility of a return to the PGA Tour.

“I know you’re not going to like this answer… in accordance with our player-centric policy, we will simply follow the procedure. We haven’t made any announcements regarding the players, but he is under contract for 2026.”

– Gary O’Neil, LIV Golf leader, to Josh Carpenter of Sports Business Journal

Koepka’s LIV Golf Performance

Since joining LIV Golf, the 35-year-old American has won five times between 2022 and 2024. However, he struggled in 2025 with only one top-5 finish (2nd in Singapore). Despite this, he has had success in Majors since leaving the PGA Tour, winning the PGA Championship in 2023 and placing 2nd in the Masters that same year.

Why a PGA Tour Return in 2026 is Possible

  • Koepka would face a one-year suspension if he decides to leave LIV Golf, making him eligible to return to the PGA Tour in August 2026.
  • He secured a five-year exemption through 2028 thanks to his 2023 PGA Championship victory, ensuring he wouldn’t need to requalify for the PGA Tour.

Disciplinary Sanctions Uncertain

While the PGA Tour has allowed some former LIV Golf players to compete in certain events, the disciplinary sanctions Koepka could face upon his return remain unclear. His future on the American circuit is thus uncertain.
