In a pitchers’ duel marked by an unexpected outcome, the Braves downed the Mets 5-0. Chris Sale nearly threw his first complete game since 2019, going 8+ innings and allowing just one hit, with 10 strikeouts.

Sale (5-4) threw 116 pitches, allowing just one runner beyond second base. He also snagged a line drive with a diving catch, but was lifted after a single to left field with two outs in the ninth. Raisel Iglesias recorded the final out for his fifth save of the season.

Sale’s Resurgence
