Breaking News: Billy Horschel Withdraws from PGA Championship 2025 for Preventive Surgery

Top American Golfer Pulls Out of Upcoming Major Tournament

Billy Horschel has officially withdrawn from the PGA Championship 2025, set to take place next week. The 8th place finisher at last year’s championship, Horschel announced his decision on his social media channels, attributing it to a necessary preventive operation on his right hip.

Preventive Measure for Long-term Health

After consulting with doctors and his team, Horschel decided to undergo surgery early next week in Colorado. In a statement, he expressed regret at missing the upcoming tournaments but emphasized the importance of this procedure for his long-term health and career.

“It’s a decision taken regretfully, especially with so many beautiful tournaments still to come this season, but this intervention is necessary in the long term,” Horschel said.

“I am already itching to start rehabilitation, to resume training, and I hope to come back to the tours towards the end of the summer or at the beginning of the fall. I would like to thank my family, friends, sponsors and partners for their unwavering support. I will share positive news from my rehabilitation over my progress, and I can’t wait to find you all on the greens very soon!”
