After consulting with doctors and his team, Horschel decided to undergo surgery early next week in Colorado. In a statement, he expressed regret at missing the upcoming tournaments but emphasized the importance of this procedure for his long-term health and career.
“It’s a decision taken regretfully, especially with so many beautiful tournaments still to come this season, but this intervention is necessary in the long term,” Horschel said.
“I am already itching to start rehabilitation, to resume training, and I hope to come back to the tours towards the end of the summer or at the beginning of the fall. I would like to thank my family, friends, sponsors and partners for their unwavering support. I will share positive news from my rehabilitation over my progress, and I can’t wait to find you all on the greens very soon!”
