Bentley’s Cash McClure Reaches 1,000 Career Points in Win Over Post

BRIDGEPORT, Conn.Cash McClure, a standout for the Bentley University Falcons men’s basketball team, scored his 1,000th career point in a thrilling 80-69 victory over Post on Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s a special moment for Cash and our program,” said Head Coach Jay Lawson. “He’s worked incredibly hard for this, and it’s great to see him reach this milestone.”

Milestone and Statistics

  • McClure, a senior guard, reached the 1,000-point mark with a layup two-and-a-half minutes into the contest.
  • He finished the game with 18 points, shooting 5-for-10 from the floor and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line.
  • McClure is the 59th Falcon in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.

Team Performance

  • Junior forward Chase Clarke notched his third double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and grabbing a season-high 13 rebounds.
  • Senior guard Ivan Misic scored 13 points, his fourth double-digit performance of the season.
  • Sophomore guard Mantas Zilys set a new career-high with 19 points, shooting a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line.

Free-Throw Streak

The Falcons hit 28 of their 31 free-throw attempts (90.3%), setting a new season-high and marking their best performance since hitting 31 in 2009. Bentley now leads the Northeast-10 Conference in free-throw shooting at 82.5%.

Clutch Performance

With Post threatening late in the game, Zilys and Misic combined to go 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the final 1:40, securing the victory for the Falcons.

The Falcons will travel south for the Mocs Christmas Classic, hosted by Florida Southern, on December 19-20.
