Want to think back to BBV and VICTOR LLSTP Nuremberg? What do you remember in particular?

Anyway! It was a really great time, especially for Killian. He always had a lot of energy and managed to get into sports well in Nuremberg. What makes us especially happy is that he made good friends there. His time at boarding school created lifelong friendships.

Although we didn’t do it ourselves, we as parents are proud of Killian’s badminton success, good high school diploma and being the best student in the sport. We also enjoyed his support and responsibility during his time in Nuremberg. He was also an athlete spokesperson for a while.

The bronze medal with Matthias Schnabel in the men’s doubles at the European Youth Championships was definitely a highlight, wasn’t it?

Yes – we really appreciated that. I watched the game live from work on my laptop and had a blast – with a colleague. That was pure joy! We were very happy in the end. He is a really great person, especially for Matthias. His celebration became legendary and “went around the world”, so to speak.

It has been two years since Killian graduated from high school. What has he been doing in the past few years?

Immediately after graduating from high school, he moved to the Olympic base in Saarbrucken. Unfortunately, that was not a good chance as he was injured for a long time. So it was difficult to live there properly. After debating for a long time, he decided that he wanted to see and experience something else in badminton. That surprised us, but in retrospect it was the right decision for him.

Killian cares what happens next. After a lot of exchanges with Jens (Nasser) and David (Persin), he decided to pursue a dual course. After successful application rounds, he was accepted by BMW. Classes in Munich start this September.

Until then, he took a gap year, so to speak. Last year he lived with us in Hamburg, he tasted learning, met new friends, got his first professional experience, for example as a temporary worker in a catering company, and now he is working as a waiter in a French cafe near us. . But now the bilateral study program will finally begin.

Of course we wish Killian a great start. Thanks for the interview!

On behalf of the entire Green Federation and the Executive Board of the Bavarian Badminton Association, we would like to thank you again for your three years of support for sustainability in competitive sports!
