Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is making waves, not only with his performance on the basketball court but likewise with his increasingly bold fashion statements. The reigning NBA MVP recently arrived at Madison Square Garden for a matchup against the New York Knicks sporting a striking ensemble.

A Bold Fashion Choice

Gilgeous-Alexander’s pre-game outfit included a large fur jacket, complete with silver elements, that covered his neck and part of his face. He paired the coat with glasses, black pants and black Timberland shoes. This isn’t a new trend for the Thunder star, as he has been known to wear fur coats before NBA All-Star Games in 2024 and 2025.

Despite an abdominal injury that sidelined him for a period in February, Gilgeous-Alexander continues to lead the Thunder. Heading into Wednesday’s game, the 27-year-vintage was averaging 31.8 points and 6.4 assists per game. He is undefeated against the Knicks in New York, having previously dropped 39 points on 15-of-21 shooting at Madison Square Garden in January 2025.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been on a winning streak, securing seven victories in their last eight games, solidifying their position as leaders in the Western Conference.

Gilgeous-Alexander highlighted the contributions of his teammates, specifically Kenrich Williams, who stepped up during a game where several players were injured.

“A couple guys went down and his number was called. He answered the call. It’s nothing new. I expect that from K. Rich. He’s been that all year. Whenever his number’s called, he’s ready. He made big plays tonight.”

When asked about his offensive approach against the Knicks’ defense, Gilgeous-Alexander explained, “Yeah, I indicate they’re a heavy shell team and we were penetrating like we always do, just making the right play for each other. That kind of just trickled down the line.”

Regarding a crucial late-game shot, he stated, “Late game they were sending a lot of doubles. I just felt like I hadn’t got a shot in a long time and I wanted to have my imprint on the game, especially late. A screen came so I tried to reject it to get space and then OG was chasing to cut me off, so I knew I had to step back.”
